The University of Sussex and The Keep are located near Falmer on the outskirts of Brighton, within easy reach of London and major international airports at Gatwick and Heathrow.
Please visit the main University website for more information on getting to campus from within the UK and from abroad, and for information on where to stay in Brighton. If you are on a tight budget you may wish to stay in a hostel rather than a hotel, for example the YHA or The Grapevine. However, please bear in mind that these provide basic accommodation, are not officially endorsed by the University, and may be noisy particularly if you book a shared or dormitory room. Summer is a busy time of year in Brighton so delegates are advised to book accommodation early!
Please note that the first two days of the conference (14th and 15th July) will take place at The Keep, an new archive combining the collections of East Sussex records office and the University of Sussex’s Special Collections. For information on how to get to The Keep please see their website here. The final day of the conference (16th July) will take place in the School of English at the University of Sussex. Both venues are just a short walk from Falmer train station, and are served by the 25 bus route from central Brighton. Trains from Brighton run regularly and take 10 minutes to get to Falmer, for more information please see the National Rail website. The bus stop closest to The Keep is called ‘Brighton Academy’ and for The School of English it is ‘Falmer Station.’
